Ten Years Ago...

Wow, it's been a while since I've seen another of these. It wouldn't be so long if I actually bothered visiting the blogs on my blogroll. Not that I don't care, I really do, but I just got caught up with the real world. So there!

Thanks to Faeryrowan for this tag!

Answer these questions. At the end of the post, the player tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leave a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

1. What were you doing ten years ago?
Ten years ago, I was turning 14 and was a junior in high school. I just transferred from a strict Catholic school to another Catholic school with less restrictions. And I was quite a rebel at that age.

2. What are 5 things on your to-do list today?
Do my laundry, sleep, go shopping for tomorrow's party, take an exam and go to the company anniversary party. :D

3. Snacks I enjoy
Some really good juice and grilled chicken and cheese sandwich.

4. Places I've lived
Zamboanga City, and Cebu City.

5. Things I'd do if I were a billionaire
Donate part of my fortune to designated charities, provide scholarships for those in need and build a company that would offer more jobs.

6. People I want to know more about
If Faeryrowan loves Jet Li, so do I. But I would love to know more about a someone named Robert. :)

And that's about it! Haha, so now I'm about to tag six people and they are....

(Drum roll please!)

1. Chitgoks
2. P-Chan
3. Maibe
4. Keith
5. Tiborsho
6. Blurem

Extra Extra!

It's been a while since I read up on the latest news. Truth be told, I don't really know what's been going on in the world and well, I've been too absorbed in everything that has been going on in my life very recently that I think I've been left behind in everything that I love.

So, do you like news?

PC or Mac?

If you were to choose, which one would you actually prefer? I'm more used to using the PC since it's what most stores sell here in the Philippines, as well as what most Filipinos use. I actually subscribed to Apple's newsletter and think that their new gadgets are really nice to look at, but hte price is not so nice to the common consumer. So, how about you? PC or Mac? Anyone?

Chillaxin' and Being Ranked

Some people have been wondering why this blog is called Chillaxin'. It's a word made up of two words: Chill and Relaxing. Basically, I like doing both. Hence, Chillaxin'. Actually, I do it more than anything else. So I guess you can call me a bum then. I'm a lazy person. Haha.

Anyway, a lot of Filipinos don't know what that means, but a lot also does. Unfortunately, almost everyone that I know don't know the word. Right now, I really shouldn't be chilling out and relaxing. I have big bad exams coming up in less than a week, man. But yeah, I'm supposed to be doing my laundry now, but someone beat me to the laundry area.

So here I am again, chillaxin'. I noticed that this blog finally got up from being unranked to getting PR0. Waaaa. Nothing to be happy about, but then again, it's better to see a PR0/10 than unranked. Let's just hope my talents are enough to help me pass the upcoming exam.

I'm so wrecked right now, I actually went back to nail-biting. Ew, gross. My right index finger's actually half its size now since February started. Oh well, it'll grow back anyways. I just need some suckers(lollipops) to keep my mouth busy after the exam.

Oh, and yeah, I forgot, it's time I shamelessly plug my other blog, Miss Wilhelmina, go ahead and click on the link already! :D

The NOT So Talented Mr. Montano?

The NOT so talented Mr. Montano? It seems that Mr. Brian Gorrell had changed his blog's title. This one is much much more appropriate. I wouldn't imagine calling my ex "talented". He'd be too flattered. I'll admit, he was talented in some things, but not in anything good. Well, not in anything good for the human soul, at least.

Look at the transition:

From this,

To this,

Anyway, Mr. Gorrell seems happier now. Not that he has money back, but because of the onslaught of support coming from all over the world through his blog. According to him, he has been receiving reports about the whereabouts of his ex-lover from special people and even one of Mr. Montano's relatives.

People, don't think I'd wanna hear anything about my ex anymore. I've already told everybody to stop asking me about how he is. I don't know and frankly, I don't give a flying ****. Mr. Gorrell's and my situation may be similar, but I chose to just forget about him since it wasn't USD$70,000 and I do not have HIV, so I don't need the money. I was just happy he was GONE, GONE, GONE.

All the juicy stuff about bringing Manila's High Society down has been very well---juicy. Everyone wants to know what Brian can unravel for the readers more. I know I totally enjoy reading his posts, even if he does have some occasional spelling errors. I like watching him petting his dogs, they really are adorable. They don't look like super pretty dogs, but they are very pretty. It's the loving that makes them pretty.

For some, the blog coming out is a bad thing. For others, it's an eye opener. I didn't even know that we had people like that living in the Philippines amidst all the Philippine poverty. Right now, I'm not only wishing Mr. Gorrell good luck on his quest, but I am also wishing all Filipinos the best, except for a few people here and there. But don't worry I certainly don't wish them ill.

Make Money With Your Blogs

Pretty soon right after the exams that I have been talking about over and over again on this blog, I will be writing about how you can make money off the blog that you are using/writing on.

This will include details on getting paid for posting on your sites, doing surveys, even get paid with Paypal even if you don't have a credit card. But be wary, the last one will only be good enough for people in the Philippines.

I'm no expert in getting a lot of traffic, so I'm afraid I won't be able to discuss that. Anyway, keep checking back just in case I post again.

Cards

What comes into your mind when you hear the word, "cards"? I think of playing cards when I hear it. But when I hear someone say "card", I think of my ATM card. Funny how those two words just differ with just one letter. I used to play cards with my neighbors back when we were still children. My father would catch me playing cards and then spank me. I always feared my dad's hand. But when I think back on it, I realize that he was just trying to keep my from straying just like the kids I used to play with. At first it was just for fun, but as we grew, I noticed that they were putting money into each game and I almost got hooked too. The kids that I used to play cards with are so different from when we were just innocent kids. I grew up, went to college, got my degrees, and now on my way to getting a license. The kids I used to play with are now fathers without wives, mothers without husbands, and junkies, except for a few. Looking back now, I guess I didn't grow up in such a good neighborhood after all. I was just taken cared of quite well.

Criss Angel Flies

I have never heard of Criss Angel in my entire life, until one day I was on The Richness Forums chatting with my loves, Pinkislove00 and Storie, and Pink talks about Criss Angel. I was like, "Criss who?". Then I found out that he's an American with Greek lineage illusionist. The only American illusionist I knew was David Blaine. I'll never forget the illusion he made with taking his heart out. Sick. Poor Carson Daly was cringing. I did a little research and well, turns out David's more of an endurance master rather than an illusionist. Criss Angel, however, just amazes me. Seriously. Getting rolled on by a steamroller, hit by a car through a block wall, walking on water, getting cut in half by a 4-foot saw, and even getting nailed into a coffin which was shredded in a wood chipper with him inside and surviving it. I was shaking after I saw the last video. He's a Mindfreak, alright! He didn't get out of that coffin, the coffin got shredded, and you can even see the "blood, crushed bones and pulp" come out of the wood chipper chute. His wife at the time and mother was freaking out. They expected him to get out of the coffin, but he didn't. Check the video out on youtube, I'm not gonna post it on here. It was definitely not for the faint of heart. But this one, just blows your mind! Watch the video, he levitates from building to building. I'd like to learn that!

Amanda Jones

This is Amanda Jones, a fellow Richness Girl and Blaker Girl. She has Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). If you have a few minutes to spare, please go and check out her Caring Bridge Journal. Know her story and if you may, please leave messages of support by signing her guestbook.

That's what I wrote on the Special Announcement section of the The Richness website. I'm supposed to be the one maintaining it, but due to my busy schedule and not being in the U.S. gets me out of the loop more than I already am. Anyway, the website needs some work, but I'm not going to be talking about that right now.

Amanda has been updating her site all on her own, until she has gotten so weak that she can't do it anymore. Even so, she finds a way to write on her own, but right now, her fingers are so raw from all the treatments that she can't do it on her own anymore. Right now, I'm asking for everyone to include her in your prayers and if you can, please visit her site and know her story. Her mom used to update her site in her place, but apparently, Tammy's too disheartened for her little girl to update it now, so Janice aka Yankeejan from The Richness is doing it for them now. Jan, you are heaven sent, thank you for doing so. Also, Paula, Tammy's friend is doing it for them whenever she can also. Thank you Paula.

The Chris Richardson Pillowcase

Okay, so I guess it's pretty obvious that I'm a Richness girl and I think it's about time that I got the design for the pillowcase that I designed for the Richness Raffle last November. But I am so not giving it away. I'm just putting it up on my blog, so that people would at least know that I designed it. Anyway, before designing this pillowcase, I absolutely had no experience working with any photo editing software at all. Seriously. We were just desperate for a design and well, it turns out that when we're desperate, I learn super fast and come up with a solution.

Four months after the The Richness Raffle, my pillowcase design has finally reached Chris Richardson and he signed it "Sweet Dreams" even. When I found that out, I thought, "Oh, I'm definitely getting some sweet dreams.". Getting appreciated feels so good. Thank you, Yankeejan from The Richness! She won the pillowcase from the raffle and not only Chris Richardson did like it, Melinda Doolittle wanted a picture with it too, since she loved it. Oh I feel so special. Haha. And according to Yankeejan, the AI people and the Dreyer's people loved it as well, so I'm like on Cloud Nine right now. Now if only they knew I'm the only Wil everyone's talking about from The Richness....

The Forbidden Kingdom

OMG... It's The Forbidden Kingdom! For years, I've waited for Jackie Chan and Jet Li to get together for one project and now they finally did. When I read on the newspaper last year on an interview about Jackie Chan and the work that he's doing, I felt that 2008 was still so far far away. But it's 2008 now and well, time flies! It's about a kung-fu obsessed American teenager who somehow gets himself into---ssshh.. I'm not telling anymore. But I will be watching the movie when it comes out, at least when it's in the movies here. I didn't wait more than a year for this movie and not watch it. I'll watch it, even if I go alone. Haha. I just wanna watch The Forbidden Kingdom, man. I haven't treated myself to a movie in a while, and I have a good feeling that The Forbidden Kingdom is a good movie that can get me into wanting to watch again in the movies.

Laptops, Laptops, Laptops!

Being a tech junkie, anything high-tech that I can get my hands on, I have a hard time letting go. When i graduated from college (again), he gave me a laptop for a present. Well, I don't really need a laptop after finishing school, thing is, it would've been a very great help if he gave me one before I finished my first degree.

I would've used the laptop for mastering programming and such. If I had what I have now when I was still studying Computer Engineering, maybe I would've done better. Anyway, enough reminiscing of the past that will never return.

What I got was an Arnold Xnote. Funny thing though, is that whenever I try Googling it or searching on Yahoo, all that would come up is California Governor Arnold Scwarzenegger.

*Sigh* Not wondering why. Anyway, it's got a nice High-Definition LCD screen, with all the works, and so far, it's been very good to me. I'm not gonna go into detail as talk about its specs, because if I do, I'm pretty sutre it'll only bore ya'll. So maybe I'll talk about the specs next time.

Loving Pictures

Ok, so my MySpace, Facebook, and Friendster accounts don't have too many pictures of me on them. But it's not like I hate pictures, I might not hate them, but I don't love them that much either.

Taylor Swift - I'd Lie

Yes, it's Country music. I still wonder why a lot of people say they hate Country music even though they actually like it in some way. Probably because there're way too many famous people who said they hate the music. I first heard this song on the The Official Richness message boards. And I mean the Real Official Richness boards and not the other one that claimed the name "The Official Richness". I've never heard the song played in Philippine Radio, but that's only because I don't have a radio. Well, my mp4 player has radio, but since we busted my radio back in 2003 for a project, I've never really listened much to the radio.

Got off-track again. Ugh. Anyway, the song talks of a girl loving a boy secretly. The tune's catchy in my opinion, and I have sung along to it and played it countless times on my mp3 player on my desktop and laptop, but all of a sudden, everytime I hear the intro to the song, I just feel like changing the song to the next. I found out that after a while, the song gets annoying. But if I'm not close to any of my music players, it gets less anoying and I give in and sing along to it again.

Pizza Yumminess

Image from Flickr

Okay, I just gave myself away. If you've read through my blog, you'd know that I'm a food health freak. And well, pizza can only be considered fat food and junk food. Of all the junk foods though, I love pizza the most. And even if I really do love pizza the most, that doesn't mean that I indulge in pizza as much as I want to. In the Philippines, pizza, especially the good ones, cost a lot of money. So I only have pizza once in every great while.

Shopping for Perks

Now who doesn't want to do this? If someone asked me to shop for a new wardrobe with pay, I know I'd definitely do it, and if that someone tells me that I get to keep whatever I'm buying, I'd be ecstatic. Well, obviously, I'm talking about mystery shopping. It's just sad that I don't know about it happening anywhere near my area, because if I did, I probably would've already hounded those people hiring people to shop.

Sounds like the perfect job, right?

Actually, it's not. It might be the perfect part-time job though. From what I read, it really doesn't pay much, if you are in the US. But the perks are really good. The company hires the mystery shopper based on his or her profile, haves him or her shop at their store, then the shopper reports to management his or her experience with the customer service.

*Insert thought here* I think I'm a good shopper, I actually complain when I think service is bad. *Exit thought*

Anyway, mystery shoppers are then given one mission, but it's to go to four or five shops. The worst part of being a mystery shopper is that you have to use your own money to shop and get reimbursed later on. So if you don't have enough cash on you before shopping, that's a really bad thing.

In the US, a mystery shopper earns about $60 to $90 on average each day. It may vary for some others, but if you have a family to feed, that is just not enough. You can consider it a hobby, I guess. But even if the pay may suck, the perks are to die for.

For example, you have been putting off changing your oil for a long time now due to time constraints and you just can't afford to and suddenly this company gives you a mission to go to their shop, have your oil changed and your brakes checked. You might have to spend on that, but still you get reimbursed. It's just as good as getting those services for free.

But mystery shopping isn't just as easy as that. There are some shops that require you to open and close a bank account just to see if the bank's customer service is good, or they'll let you stay at a hotel, eat at the restaurant and even get a massage at the spa.

Isn't that nice?

Car Survey

I love cars, I just do. It's just sad that I don't have one just yet. But I will get myself one someday and make sure that it is brand new. =]

Survey Break!

And here is another survey... Oh, make that two. Unless I figure out a way to make the page load faster with them on, this is how I'm gonna keep posting them. It's so simple just filling these things out and then all you gotta do is post them. :)

Let's Talk About Dreams

Dreams can be both good or bad. In my case, I can't really tell. My dreams have been kinda weird lately. Check out my latest dream at the survey that I just filled out. I had it about a couple of nights ago. After that, I've just been on hold waiting for another dream to come to me. I wish I had more dreams. I miss dreaming. I haven't dreamed as much as I used to back when I was still in high school. Anyways, check out the survey to find out about my latest dream.
